Night Diver

Experience the underwater world in a whole new light—or lack thereof—with the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course. Diving at night offers a unique and magical perspective, revealing a different side of marine life and the environment that’s not visible during the day. With guidance from your instructor, you’ll develop the skills and confidence needed to explore safely and enjoyably after the sun goes down.

What You’ll Learn:

• Underwater Navigation at Night: Learn to navigate confidently in low-light conditions, find entry and exit points, and orient yourself using dive lights and natural landmarks.
• Night Diving Tips and Techniques: Your instructor will share valuable tips for safe and enjoyable night dives, including how to manage your equipment and conserve energy.
• Buddy Communication: Practice effective communication and learn to stay in close contact with your dive buddy to avoid disorientation.
• Marine Life Behavior: Observe how marine life changes after dark, as nocturnal creatures emerge and others rest or retreat.

What’s Included:

• Night diving instruction and guidance from a certified PADI Instructor.
• Three open water night dives (typically over two evenings).
• Practice using dive lights and other night diving equipment.

What You’ll Need:

• Your standard dive gear, including a dive computer.
• Primary and Backup Dive Lights (available for purchase or rental at Portsmouth Scuba).
• Additional items may include a marker light or glow stick for visibility.
