Stephen is a New Hampshire native who grew up along the coast and has been orbiting the ocean his whole life. His dive journey officially began in 2011 with Portsmouth Scuba after a trip to Key West flipped a switch and sent him permanently underwater (by choice). That spark led him through advanced training and all the way to earning his PADI Instructor certification in early 2022.

With more than 500 logged dives, Stephen has explored the Florida Keys, California, the Carolinas, the Bahamas, and New England. He’s known for his calm, steady teaching style—nothing rattles him, which makes sense considering his day job as a physical therapist assistant and his other full-time job as dad to three energetic, “beautifully crazy” kids.

Between helping people recover from injuries, wrangling small humans, and diving in cold New England water, Stephen has mastered patience, adaptability, and staying calm when things get unpredictable. Whether you’re taking your first breaths underwater or leveling up your skills, you’re in very steady (and slightly sleep-deprived) hands.
