Originally from Yakima, Washington, Dick discovered his love for the ocean during childhood trips to the Oregon Coast. He started scuba diving in 2010, caught the bug hard, and decided the only reasonable next step was to turn it into a career and never stop diving.

With more than 2,000 logged dives across 15 Caribbean islands, Florida, and the New England Seacoast, Dick brings experience, enthusiasm, and a healthy respect for cold water to every class. He is also the only PADI-certified instructor for the New England Seal Diver distinctive specialty—teaching divers how to safely, responsibly, and joyfully interact with the curious, playful “puppies of the sea” that make local diving unforgettable.

After retiring from a 25-year career with the Portsmouth Police Department, Dick now dives full-time, spends more time in a wetsuit than a uniform, and loves helping divers build confidence, skills, and lifelong stories—often involving seals, laughter, and very cold water.
