Dan is a true Portsmouth Scuba original and has been an essential part of the team for over 25 years. A certified diver since 1973 (yes, really), Dan was born and raised in New Hampshire and now lives along the coast of Maine—because once you’re hooked on ocean life, there’s no going back.

A Navy veteran and former military diver stationed in Spain, Dan has also spent the last 45 years working at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Between military diving, shipyard work, and teaching, there’s very little underwater—or mechanical—that Dan hasn’t seen or fixed.

As a PADI Master Instructor, Dan brings a massive depth of knowledge to our classes, often serving as the calm, experienced presence everyone trusts. He’s also our go-to scuba repair wizard, holding multiple certifications to service nearly every brand and type of scuba equipment. If your gear is acting up, Dan is the person you want looking at it.
